Leadership NOW! is a leadership program that exists to engage, support, and mobilize young professionals as meaningful members of our community. LNOW! trains them in leadership skills and civic-mindedness, and plugs them into the life and leadership of the Pikes Peak region. LNOW! runs from August to December.
If you are a young professional who wants to be plugged into the community, to know what is going on and how to affect it, to lead effectively as an individual and as part of a group, to make the Pikes Peak region a better place, then Leadership NOW! is for you.
Leadership NOW! uses the best in current leadership thinking and application to help young professionals, in their 20s and early 30s, finish the program well equipped to lead. We call it Leadership NOW! for exactly that reason–because LNOW! graduates are given the knowledge, skills, and relationships to be civic leaders now.
Leadership NOW! is not an academic course. It is an opportunity to combine your motivation with leadership practices and civic knowledge for personal and group impact.
The program accomplishes this with a combination of training and exercises, visits to key organizations, meetings with effective leaders, and group projects that provide real strategic assistance to local nonprofits and agencies. As with everything at Leadership Pikes Peak, our goal isn’t just to make you a better civic leader–it is to make you a better civic leader here and now.
Engage, support, and mobilize young leaders to make a positive difference in their community
Leadership skill development
Knowledge of the Colorado Springs community and it’s critical issues and opportunities
An introduction to influential community leaders shaping our region’s future
A network of program & LPP alumni, including established & emerging community leaders
How will my employer benefit from me participating in this program? Graduates of LNOW! will bring a better understanding of the Colorado Springs community to their organization, an enhanced network, and professional development. You will also be prepared to better represent your organization and lead within the community.
“LNOW! combined class outings and projects that allowed me to learn significantly more about myself, leadership techniques and this community. LNOW! has also provided me with a professional network in Colorado Springs that would be difficult to find anywhere else. Following the program I realized that this program will be a key component in shaping many of Colorado Springs leaders of the future.”
Community Outreach Coordinator, United States Olympic Committee
“LNOW helped me focus my goals for my career and for being an active community member. All the fun we had really renewed my enthusiasm for being a young professional in Colorado Springs!”
